There are actually two kinds of pave settings - the full pave and the half pave. In full pave, the whole band is covered with stones while in half pave; the upper portion only of the band is filled with stones. The most common type to be seen is the half pave ring because the brilliance of full pave outshines that of the center stone so a lot of people choose the half pave.
The most common shape of center stone used in pave wedding band is either a round or princess cut. The two mentioned cuts perfectly complement the brilliance of the pave stones. Other types of cuts will make the ring loud and exaggerated. While most of the center stone are mounted in prong settings, bezel set is also common for pave settings because they can draw attention to the center stone in a manner that it won't outshine the brilliance of Pave wedding band.
There are three designs for pave settings. The first one is a thin band with one row of stones with a center stone placed on the band; the width of the metal band is similar to the width of the stone making the whole band to look like it has been made exclusively from diamonds.
The second design is made up of a wider metal band and just like the first design it has a center stone with a center row of accent stones; in addition with that, other rows are placed at an angle to the center row making it wider and grand. The third design is similar to the first design minus the center stone. They are called the eternity band; yet, they are also perfect for Pave wedding band as well.
